Hacking Prevention and Remote Diagnosis Now Available
LG Uplus announced on the 23rd that it has expanded the supported devices for its enhanced security feature, the 'Smart Safety Diagnosis Service,' to include tablet PCs.
The Smart Safety Diagnosis Service is an advanced version of the 'Real-Time PC Remote Doctor,' which was launched in 2018. While the original service only offered remote diagnosis for PCs and laptops, the upgraded service now provides tailored security solutions for each device, including tablet PCs.

First, PCs and laptops are equipped with the 'Screen Defending' security solution, which protects the user's screen from external threats. If a cyber intrusion is detected while the customer is using the device, hacking attempts are immediately blocked remotely and the customer is notified. At that moment, the intruder's screen turns black instantly, ensuring the customer's personal information is not leaked. This service is available 24 hours a day, but users can disable the feature during times they do not wish to use it.
For tablet PCs, users can receive remote diagnosis at their preferred time by installing the Smart Safety Diagnosis app. LG Uplus is the first telecom provider to offer both scheduled and real-time remote diagnosis for tablet PCs. For customers using iPhones and iPads, remote guidance is provided so that they can perform real-time diagnosis together with an expert.
Customers who wish to subscribe to the Smart Safety Diagnosis Service can choose between two plans, depending on the number of devices eligible for remote diagnosis. Adding one tablet PC to a PC or laptop costs 6,600 won per month, while adding two tablet PCs costs 8,800 won per month. In addition to the security solution, customers are also eligible for repair compensation in case of damage or malfunction of their PC, laptop, or tablet PC. Compensation is available once per year, with a maximum limit of 500,000 won (including a 100,000 won deductible).
