"Striving to Ensure Voices from the Field Are Heard"
Joomoon Jung, Head of the Youth Financial Welfare Support Center, has been actively serving as a bridge between local and central governments in youth and economic policy since being appointed Deputy Chair of the Policy Committee of the Democratic Party in September 2025.
Deputy Chair Jung has previously served as the head of both the Gwangju Youth Center and the Youth Financial Welfare Support Center, where she contributed to building youth participation governance, developing support policies for self-reliant youth, and establishing the "Gwangju Model for Financial Welfare."
Drawing on these experiences, Deputy Chair Jung is focusing her capabilities on building a policy network that links central and local governments. In particular, she plays a practical role in coordinating policies across various fields and responding to current issues.
The Policy Committee of the Democratic Party is a core body that oversees all aspects of policy, including establishing the party's basic policies, supporting the government's national agenda, reviewing bills and proposals, and facilitating party-government policy consultations.
Deputy Chair Jung stated, "I feel a great sense of responsibility upon my appointment as Deputy Chair," adding, "I will uphold the principle of prioritizing citizens' lives and strive to ensure that voices from the field are reflected in policy."
