Seoul Subway's Three Unions Move Toward Strike as Third Union Approves Industrial Action with 95% Support
The Correct Labor Union, the third union of Seoul Metro, announced on November 21 that the vote on whether to take industrial action for the 2025 wage and collective bargaining negotiations had passed with 95.3% in favor.
With the approval of the industrial action proposal by the third union following the first and second unions, the likelihood of a year-end strike on the Seoul subway is increasing.
The Correct Labor Union, the third union, held the vote from November 18 to November 21. Out of 2,017 eligible members, 1,718 participated in the vote, and 1,638 voted in favor. Previously, the first union, the Seoul Metro Labor Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, and the second union, the Seoul Metro Integrated Union under the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, also passed votes on whether to take industrial action, including strikes.

The Correct Labor Union plans to hold a press conference in front of City Hall on November 26 to announce the schedule and direction for future industrial action. The first union, which has the largest number of members, will hold a press conference on November 25 after a meeting of the strike countermeasures committee to announce the 'General Strike D-Day' and its plans for action.
