December 2-11,
Open Kitchen Classes at Namgwan Life Culture Center

Cheongsong Baekja porcelain is expanding beyond Korean cuisine to become a 'vessel for the world.'

The Cheongsong Culture and Tourism Foundation (Chairman Yoon Kyunghee) is launching an experiential cooking class called "World Cuisine Presented in Cheongsong Baekja Porcelain," where participants will prepare and plate dishes from around the world using Cheongsong Baekja, the region’s representative cultural heritage.

The program will run four times in total, every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., between December 2 and December 11, at the Namgwan Life Culture Center’s Open Kitchen.

This program is structured as a cycle of "making-understanding-plating," allowing participants to learn international cooking techniques and plate their completed dishes on various Cheongsong Baekja lines (Traditional, Jeongchae, Yuchae, and Seonmun). The aim is to combine the experience of local heritage with everyday culture.

The classes are designed so that students can appreciate both the completeness of the food and the aesthetic beauty of the porcelain by plating each menu on the most suitable Baekja line. The foundation is focusing on enabling local residents to naturally experience the value of Cheongsong Baekja and deepen their understanding of the local brand, with the ultimate goal of revitalizing lifestyle culture and spreading regional identity.

The course consists of four sessions: On December 2, the first session will feature Vietnamese-style half chicken pho and banh xeo. The second session on December 4 will cover Japanese okonomiyaki and Nagasaki jjamppong.

The third session on December 9 will focus on Chinese cuisine, with Chinese-style bibimbap and guobaorou. The fourth session on December 11 will feature Italian truffle cream potato gnocchi and mussel stew.

Enrollment begins at 10:00 a.m. on November 24 through the Namgwan Life Culture Center website, with eight participants per session on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure fair participation, each person may register for only one class, and there is no participation fee.
