Additionally, the establishment of an industry-academia research cooperation system with Pusan National University to develop customized housing welfare services, as well as efforts to strengthen performance sharing and cooperation with local community welfare centers within permanent rental housing, were cited as key reasons for the award.
In particular, the corporation was recognized for its on-site support focused on care through the deployment of housing welfare workers and for utilizing the results of the “Housing Welfare Service Index” to derive and implement practical, customized welfare project ideas.
Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, “This award is the result of the dedication of our employees, partner organizations, and the interest and participation of residents, all working to improve housing welfare. Moving forward, we will continue to contribute to enhancing the quality of life for citizens by expanding the supply of public rental housing and strengthening practical housing welfare services.”
The Korea Housing Welfare Culture Awards is an event hosted by the Housing Welfare Culture Headquarters and sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Each year, it selects outstanding institutions, organizations, and individuals to widely promote exemplary cases of housing welfare.
