The late Sergeant Seo Jungwoo was killed in action on November 23, 2010, during the Yeonpyeong Island shelling by North Korea. While waiting for a boat at the Yeonpyeong Island pier to go on leave, he returned to his unit as the shelling began and was fatally wounded by enemy shrapnel.
