Democratic Party Deputy Spokesperson Seungse Cha Appointed as Political Affairs Special Advisor to Representative Jeong Cheongrae
The Democratic Party of Korea has appointed Seungse Cha, Deputy Spokesperson of the Central Party, as Political Affairs Special Advisor to Representative Jeong Cheongrae.
On November 20, the Democratic Party of Korea announced that Seungse Cha, the newly appointed Political Affairs Special Advisor, will support the party leader in making political judgments during the strategy and policy planning process, and assist in building networks with various channels such as the National Assembly, government, civil society, and local communities. The Political Affairs Special Advisor is a position responsible for facilitating the party leader’s decision-making and serving as a communication channel.
Cha previously served as Political Affairs Special Advisor to Gwangju City and Chief of Staff of Gwangsan District Office. He is currently the Chair of the Talent Innovation and Recruitment Committee of the Korea Democratic Local Leaders’ Conference (KDLC) and the Principal of the Gwangju Roh Moo-hyun Citizen School. During the 21st presidential election, he worked as the Head of the Organization Team for Lee Jaemyung’s Central Election Committee and as Director of Strategic Planning for the Gwangju Election Committee.
Recently, Cha has held key positions such as Deputy Spokesperson of the Central Party, Standing Member of the Chamjoeun Local Government Committee, and Policy Advisor to the National Balanced Development Special Committee.
Cha stated, "I have done my utmost to serve as a communication channel connecting the central party and local communities," adding, "I will focus on strengthening the region-based political affairs network and coordinating policies while assisting the party leader."

It is reported that Cha is preparing to run for Mayor of Gwangsan District, Gwangju, in next year’s local elections.
