AI-Based Startup Idea Competition
Pusan National University (President Choi Jaewon) announced on November 20 that it will co-host the '2025 Global Startup Hub Hackathon' in Bangsaen, Thailand, in collaboration with the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency. The event aims to establish a leading cooperation model centered on regional innovation and to expand the global startup exchange ecosystem.
The hackathon is being organized primarily by the Pusan National University Startup Support Group and the RISE Project Group, in partnership with the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) of Thailand. Key institutions from both countries are working together to host an intensive five-night, six-day hackathon from November 16 to 21, focusing on global startup collaboration.
A total of 32 students interested in entrepreneurship-15 from Korea and 17 from Thailand-are participating in the hackathon. They have formed eight teams to compete with their startup ideas.
The common themes of the competition are 'Public Safety' and 'Low-Carbon Smart City.' Participants are expected to utilize AI to develop concrete global startup ideas, prepare and present business plans at the level of investment proposals, and generate creative and feasible solutions.
The event begins with cross-team matching and a program orientation, followed by startup idea development, business plan preparation, and presentation training. On the final day, November 21, IR presentations and an awards ceremony will take place locally.
Through this process, participants are expected to gain practical business experience and be motivated to enter the global market.
