The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) signed a memorandum of understanding on November 18 with the Jeju 4·3 Peace Foundation (Chairman Paek Jongmin) to promote history, peace, and human rights education. The signing ceremony was held in the conference room of the education office.
Through this agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in various areas, including teacher training, joint development of educational materials, and the operation of student-participatory educational activities. They will share human and material resources and establish a collaborative network to help students understand the values of peace and human rights through experiential and discussion-based learning.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "This will serve as an opportunity to enhance the substance of history, peace, and human rights education in which both students and teachers participate together."
Chairman Paek Jongmin expressed his expectations for nationwide expansion, saying, "Collaboration with the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education provides an opportunity to pass on the spirit of 4·3 and the values of peace and human rights to future generations."
