Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Pangyo and Bangbae Offices Over Alleged KT Hacking Investigation Obstruction
The police have launched a compulsory investigation into allegations that KT concealed evidence by disposing of servers during the handling of a hacking incident.
On the morning of November 19, the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency dispatched about 20 investigators to conduct searches and seizures at three locations, including KT's Pangyo office and Bangbae office.
The police plan to analyze the seized items to determine whether there is evidence that KT intentionally disposed of servers during the response to the hacking incident.
It has been reported that Hwang Taeseon, Head of Information Security at KT, has been booked on charges of obstruction of official duties by fraudulent means.
