"Interactive Content Expected to Help Prevent Secondhand Trading Fraud"

KakaoBank is launching a joint campaign with Bungaejangter to prevent three-party fraud in secondhand transactions. KakaoBank's anti-fraud content for secondhand trading, called the "Semmelier Test," will be available to Bungaejangter application (app) users until December 14.

The "Semmelier Test" is an interactive content designed to let users experience common fraud techniques that often occur in actual secondhand transactions. According to KakaoBank, it is structured so that users can track down scammers in virtual secondhand trading scenarios, allowing them to naturally learn about different types of fraud and easily understand key prevention methods. The content includes essential rules such as being cautious when trading items that are easily converted to cash, like gift cards or foreign currency, and using secure payment options within secondhand trading platforms.

This content is also available through KakaoBank's youth-exclusive service, "Mini Life," enabling teenage customers to easily access information on preventing secondhand trading fraud.

KakaoBank stated, "We believe it is important to deliver information in a way that customers can easily understand in order to prevent increasingly sophisticated financial fraud, which is why we are conducting this campaign." The company added, "Along with advancing our systems such as monitoring and abnormal transaction detection, we will continue to expand prevention education and campaigns."
