A man who rushed American pop star Ariana Grande at an event in Singapore has been arrested and sentenced to prison.
According to the New York Times on November 17, a Singaporean court sentenced Johnson Wen, an Australian national who was tried on charges of disturbing public order, to nine days in prison.

View original imageWen was accused of rushing Grande during the premiere of the film "Wicked: For Good" on November 13. That day, Grande was walking the red carpet when Wen broke through the security team and embraced her.
In video footage from the incident, Wen can be seen smiling as he wraps his arm around Grande's shoulder. At that moment, actress Cynthia Erivo quickly intervened and separated Wen from Grande, after which the security team escorted Wen out. Despite the chaos, Wen could not hide his joy and was even seen jumping up and down. A shocked Grande took a deep breath while being comforted by her fellow cast members.
Wen has previously engaged in similar disruptive behavior. He is reported to have trespassed at several events attended by celebrities such as Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and The Chainsmokers.
Even after this incident, Wen posted on his Instagram account, "Tonight I finally met Ariana Grande. Thank you for letting me join her on the carpet." He also uploaded a video showing the circumstances of the incident, drawing criticism from Grande's fans.

The Singaporean court determined that Wen showed no signs of remorse. The judge stated, "It appears you have never been punished for your past actions, and you likely thought the same would happen this time. You are mistaken, and you must remember that actions always have consequences."
