On November 18, the Criminal Division 2 of the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Yoo Jeonghyeon) announced that they had indicted a man in his 60s, referred to as Mr. A, on charges of murder and attempted murder.
Mr. A is accused of wielding a weapon against the restaurant owners, a couple in their 60s, at a restaurant in Suyu-dong around 2 p.m. on October 26. The female victim, who was transported to the hospital, died on the morning of October 27, while the male victim suffered serious injuries.
It has been reported that Mr. A demanded a discount on his meal after the restaurant refused to give him a 1,000-won lottery ticket, which the establishment usually provided for promotional purposes.
