Hongcheon Governor Shin Youngjae Visits Budget Committee Secretaries to Request Increased Funding for Seven Key Projects Next Year
Shin Youngjae, Governor of Hongcheon County, visited the secretariat of the National Assembly Budget Committee and the offices of both ruling and opposition party lawmakers representing constituencies in the province on the 18th to explain projects seeking increased national funding, making a final all-out effort to secure next year’s government budget.

View original imageOn this day, starting with a meeting with Park Hyungsoo, the People Power Party’s Budget Committee secretary, Governor Shin visited the offices of National Assemblyman Song Kiheon (Democratic Party Budget Committee member), National Assemblyman Han Giho (People Power Party Budget Committee member), and local constituency representative National Assemblyman Yoo Sangbeom (People Power Party, Planning and Finance Committee) in succession. He explained key pending projects that have passed preliminary reviews in each standing committee and are awaiting review by the Budget Committee, and requested their active cooperation in securing government funding.
Meanwhile, prior to these visits to Budget Committee members, Hongcheon County had held strategic meetings on responding to national policy tasks and securing government funding immediately after the government’s budget proposal was announced by the Ministry of Economy and Finance at the end of August. The county finalized its strategic response projects and, from October to November, made multiple visits to the National Assembly to present and advocate for the necessity of these projects, preparing for the final budget increase review.
The projects proposed on this day include: △ Construction of an Antibody Industry Business Center (2.2 billion won), △ Development of a Small and Medium-sized CDMO Antigen-Antibody Material Bank (2.3 billion won), △ Global Anti-inflammatory Commercialization Support Center (2.0 billion won), △ New construction and expansion of eco-friendly energy town liquid fertilizer facilities (2.9 billion won), △ Maintenance of Seoseok Route 209, District 1, a natural disaster risk zone (500 million won), △ Passing the preliminary feasibility study and early construction of the Yongmun-Hongcheon metropolitan railway, among a total of seven major key projects under the 8th popularly elected administration.

Shin Youngjae, Governor of Hongcheon County, stated, “So far, by traveling between Sejong City and the National Assembly, we have prepared and proposed a number of future growth projects for our county, many of which are included in the new government’s policy agenda.
