Park Gyubaek, the 62nd Superintendent of the Naval Academy, emphasized this upon his inauguration on November 18.
At the Naval Academy Superintendent Inauguration Ceremony, the newly appointed superintendent, Lieutenant General Park Gyubaek, is receiving salutes from the cadets and faculty members.
View original imageThe inauguration ceremony, presided over by Chief of Naval Operations Kang Donggil, was held on this day with the attendance of faculty members and cadets of the Naval Academy. The event proceeded in the following order: opening remarks, national ceremony, reading of personnel orders, transfer of the military flag, address by the Chief of Naval Operations, inaugural address, and closing remarks.
In his inaugural address, the new superintendent, Park Gyubaek, stressed, "I will devote myself to nurturing 'leaders of loyalty and martial spirit' who, as soldiers, possess martial virtues and can remain loyal to the nation and its people." He also expressed his commitment to designing 'future-oriented education' tailored to evolving security environments and societal changes, and to fostering an academy culture that promotes positive influence.

Lieutenant General Park Gyubaek, a graduate of the 47th class of the Naval Academy, has held numerous key positions, including Commander of the 108th Early Warning Squadron, Director of Naval Forces at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Commandant of Cadets at the Naval Academy, Commander of the First Fleet, and Director of Combat Development at the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
