Establishing a Virtuous Cycle Structure for Communities
Seo-gu District in Gwangju is injecting new energy into the revitalization of village communities as its resident-centered "Village BI (Brand Identity)" project enters its third year.
On November 18, Seo-gu announced that this year, in collaboration with the professional support team produced by Saekendae (The World's Largest University), the district systematically supported every stage of community projects from planning to execution, thereby establishing a "virtuous cycle structure" for communities.

The event was conducted as a competition, where five communities that passed the document screening presented their best practices, and one team was awarded the grand prize, two teams received the excellence award, and two teams received the merit award.
The grand prize went to the "Hwajeong 1-dong Residents' Council." Under the village BI "Together, Connect. Safe Village," they are collaborating with residents and related organizations to create safe routes to and from school for children. They conduct weekly school route safety patrols and are also working to build a village safety map database.
Additionally, the excellence awards went to the "Geumho 1-dong Governance Network," which revitalized local commercial districts through projects such as the Onnuri Gift Certificate Refund Event "Geumho Festa," village currency, and the Win-Win Sharing Market, and to the "Dongcheon 1 Complex Tenants' Representatives Council," which practiced eco-friendly low-carbon initiatives by cultivating vegetable gardens with apartment communities. The merit awards were given to the "Beodeul Mothers' Association," which operated various cooking classes and intergenerational communication programs, and to "Sangmu 1-dong Sonogong," which promoted communication among apartment residents through campaigns such as "Smile and Greet."
