Goyang City to Recruit 9,416 Participants for Next Year's Integrated Senior Employment Project

Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on November 18 that it will invest a total of 38.2 billion won in the 2026 Senior Employment and Social Activity Support Project, recruiting 9,416 participants through an integrated recruitment process by implementing agencies.

View original imageFrom November 24, application forms will be distributed at 10 senior employment implementing agencies in Goyang City, and applications can be submitted in person or online on designated dates between December 5 and December 10.
The recruitment targets are divided into three categories: 6,667 participants for the Senior Public Interest Activity Project, which is open to low-income seniors aged 65 or older who receive the basic pension or occupational pension; 1,573 participants for the Senior Capability Utilization Project, available to seniors aged 65 or older who do not receive the basic pension; and 906 participants for the Community Project Group and 270 for the Job Placement Type, both open to those aged 60 or older who do not receive the basic pension.
Seniors wishing to participate in the senior employment project can apply in person at the implementing agency closest to their residence. They may apply for up to two projects per type, for a total of six projects. Online applications are also possible via the Welfare Portal, but applicants must visit the relevant agency in person to submit supporting documents after applying online.
The Senior Public Interest Activity Project offers 30 hours of activities per month and provides an activity allowance of 290,000 won. Participants are assigned to a variety of roles, including school zone traffic guidance, the 365 Neighborhood Guardians program, senior-to-senior care, and public facility environmental clean-up.
The Senior Capability Utilization Project provides a salary of 634,000 won per month (excluding weekly holiday and annual leave allowances) for at least 60 hours of activities. Seniors will be engaged in service work where they can utilize their diverse skills, such as assisting at childcare facilities in Goyang City, managing senior community centers, supporting senior care facilities, assisting with lifeline counseling calls, and supporting post office operations.
Additionally, the Community Project Group offers varying working hours and salaries depending on the project team, and recruits for a wide range of fields including manufacturing and sales, silver cafes, senior convenience stores, and school service provision. These are quality jobs where the workplace may partially cover wages or generate revenue to pay participants.

A city official stated, "By providing customized, age-friendly senior jobs, we will expand opportunities for seniors to participate in society, supplement their income, and promote their health," adding, "We will make every effort to implement senior employment projects that enhance seniors' self-satisfaction and sense of achievement."
