This is the story of Adam Schenk from the United States. On November 16 (local time), at Port Royal Golf Course (par 71, 6,828 yards) in Southampton, Bermuda, he claimed victory at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship on the PGA Tour, which had a total prize fund of 6 million dollars. After debuting in 2018, he finally succeeded in his 243rd attempt. The winner's prize was 1.08 million dollars (approximately 1.6 billion won).

Schenk made a bold decision ahead of this tournament. He put an old club in his caddie bag. He took out his fairway wood and instead packed a Ping i210 long iron. This club setup was designed to withstand Bermuda’s fierce winds throughout the week. On the final day, gusts exceeded 40 miles per hour at the course. With his unique club selection-without a fairway wood-Schenk did not lose strokes and managed an even-par 71.

Schenk used an 8-year-old Ping G400 driver. For irons, he only used the Ping i210 from 2-iron to 5-iron. Instead, from 6-iron to pitching wedge, he used Mizuno MP-18 SC irons. Schenk also pulled out an Odyssey Tri-Hot Rossi putter released in 2001. His golf ball was a Titleist Pro V1 made in 2017.

Schenk demonstrated consistent performance throughout the tournament. Over four days, his fairway accuracy rate was 57.14% (tied for 20th), greens in regulation 62.50% (tied for 26th), bunker save rate 66.67% (tied for 13th), scrambling ability 81.48% (3rd), and putts per green in regulation 1.73 (22nd). Before this tournament, he was ranked 134th in the FedEx Cup standings, but with his first career win, he secured his tour card.
