Krafton Targets Next Year for "Palworld Mobile" Launch
First Demo at G-Star
Closed Beta Test in Korea and Japan Next Month
After its Steam Early Access release last year, "Palworld," which has reached a cumulative 32 million players in just one year, is now coming to mobile.
Krafton unveiled its new title, "Palworld Mobile," for the first time at G-Star 2025. The queue was so long that visitors had to wait at least two hours to try the demo. The play session lasted for 30 minutes.
"Palworld Mobile" is a mobile adaptation of the intellectual property (IP) "Palworld" from Japanese game company Pocketpair. Developed by Krafton PUBG Studio, the game is set to launch next year.
Upon playing the game, the setting was a prehistoric era filled with nature, just like the original. The game began by setting up a primitive workbench on the land of origins. Following the guide, I chopped trees with a stone axe and captured Pals using a club and a Pal Sphere. Quests could be checked in the upper left corner, and tapping each quest would automatically move the character to the target location.
One notable difference from the original is the addition of a "Capture Mode." When this mode is enabled, the health of a Pal being attacked does not drop below one, preventing accidental deaths of Pals you are trying to catch. An "Assist Mode" that supports aiming and attacks also stood out. This feature, designed for the more challenging mobile controls, helps reduce the fatigue of manual operation when activated.
However, basic actions such as using skills, gathering resources, and building must still be performed manually. When facing powerful boss Pals, up to three players can team up for cooperative battles, allowing for player interaction.
Krafton plans to conduct a closed beta test (CBT) for "Palworld Mobile" in Korea and Japan next month.
