Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province has been selected by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as an “Outstanding Local Government for Local Gift Certificate Issuance,” securing approximately 450 million won in national funding to implement related policies next year.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety selected 32 local governments nationwide as outstanding local governments. Yangju City received an excellent rating in this evaluation, being recognized for its efforts in developing diverse policies and revitalizing the operation of local gift certificates in 2025.
The secured national funding will be used for consumption promotion projects aimed at revitalizing the local economy at the end of the year.
Starting November 20, the city will offer an additional 5% rebate on payments, in addition to the existing 10% incentive provided upon recharge.
The aim of this year-end, temporary additional benefit is to help restore consumer sentiment and boost local small business districts.
