LG Transparent TV 'Signature OLED T' Wins Good Design Presidential Award
A Total of 28 Awards Including the Presidential Award
Honored at the World's Top Three Design Awards
"Innovation Combining Research and Advanced Technology"
LG Electronics won a total of 28 awards, including the top honor, the Presidential Award, at the '2025 Good Design (GD) Selection'.
The Good Design Selection is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion. It evaluates and awards products for excellence and innovation in design, and grants the government-certified 'GD (Good Design)' mark.
At this year's Good Design Selection, the world's first transparent wireless TV, 'LG Signature OLED T', won the Presidential Award, the highest honor. This product has already been recognized for its design competitiveness by winning at the world's top three design awards: the Red Dot Design Award, the iF Design Award, and IDEA.
The LG Signature OLED T is an OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) TV that allows users to switch between black screen and transparent screen modes with just a remote control. In black screen mode, users can enjoy movies, games, and other content in the impressive native 4K quality of the 77-inch OLED display. In transparent screen mode, the space behind the screen is visible, providing a sense of openness and a unique visual experience similar to augmented reality that only a transparent screen can offer.
LG Electronics received a total of 28 awards, including the Presidential Award. Products recognized for their design excellence include: the LG AI Home IoT Package, which consists of the AI home hub LG ThinQ On and surrounding IoT devices; the LG Tromm AI Objet Collection WashTower, which combines a washing machine and dryer in a tower form factor; and the LG StanbyME 2, which allows the display to be easily detached from its stand for versatile use.
In addition to products, LG Electronics also won main awards in categories such as UX (user experience), UI (user interface), and packaging. These include: the LG AI symbol, which represents empathetic intelligence that resonates with customers; the LG Signature Smart InstaView UX, which allows users to check the inside of the refrigerator without opening the door using transparent OLED technology; and the package design for the wireless audio brand LG Xboom.
