"An Airplane in the Kids Cafe"... Gimpo Airport's Indoor Playground Doubles in Size
Korea Airports Corporation announced on November 12 that it has opened a kids cafe-style indoor playground called "Mom-Pyeonhan Playground" on the third floor of the domestic terminal at Gimpo International Airport.
In August, the corporation launched a playground improvement project in cooperation with Lotte Holdings and the ChildFund Korea to renovate the aging existing playground. The newly opened Mom-Pyeonhan Playground was expanded to more than double its previous size, increasing from 22 pyeong to 45 pyeong, with an investment of approximately 500 million won.
In particular, the playground was designed as a kids cafe-style space that combines play, relaxation, and safety, featuring the introduction of touchscreen play facilities, a child-friendly rest area with sky and cloud imagery, flame-retardant mat cushions, and safety glass installations. Separate play zones were created for infants (under 2 years old) and toddlers (aged 2 to under 6), providing age-appropriate areas for play.
Senior supporters will be stationed at all times in the Mom-Pyeonhan Playground to ensure child safety and create jobs for older adults.
