Full-Scale Implementation of the "20 Major Safety Innovation Initiatives"
Hanwha Ocean has embarked on a sweeping transformation to fundamentally innovate its safety management system.
On November 12, at its Geoje plant in South Gyeongsang Province, Hanwha Ocean announced that it had held a "Safety Innovation Declaration Ceremony" attended by CEO Kim Heecheol, employees, and partner company representatives, reaffirming the company's commitment to a company-wide innovation for establishing a robust safety culture. The event, held under the slogan "Reset & Restart from the Beginning," was designed to break away from existing practices, comprehensively review all aspects of safety management, and strengthen execution. During the ceremony, all employees and partner company staff personally wrote a "Safety Pledge," which will be displayed on-site as a sculpture titled "30,000 Pledges."

In the institutional area, the company will link safety compliance motivation to KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), enhance safety management for partner companies, abolish formal procedures, and establish an operations system focused on effectiveness. In terms of systems, Hanwha Ocean will operate the "Safe Guard 119" process to prevent major accidents, while simultaneously advancing its mobile safety management system and accident investigation capabilities. The people-centered initiatives include strengthening safety competencies by job level and function, expanding training for foreign workers and partner companies, and promoting joint labor-management safety innovation.
