View original imageAccording to Donghae City on November 12, a series of sports events, each attracting between 200 and 300 participants, have been held consecutively, starting with the Donghae City Association President's Cup Citizens Golf Tournament on November 5, followed by the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Association President's Archery Competition from November 6 to 8, the Youth School Soccer Tournament on November 8, and the Donghae City Federation President's Cup Cycling Competition on November 9.
Furthermore, from November 14 to 16, a variety of community sports and national-scale events are scheduled, including the Gangwon City and County Club Bowling Tournament, the Little K National Youth Soccer Championship, the Happy Island Coastal Forest Trail Walking Parade, the Donghae Citizens Health Walking Competition, a tennis tournament, and a swimming competition.
In particular, more than 1,000 participants are expected for the national-level soccer and walking competitions, which are anticipated to have a positive ripple effect on the local economy, especially in the accommodation, food, and tourism sectors.
Donghae City is considered an ideal location for hosting various sports competitions, thanks to its outstanding natural environment and well-developed sports infrastructure, such as the Donghae Wellbeing Leisure Sports Town and the Haeoreum Sports Center. In particular, during the winter season, teams from across the country visit for off-season training, demonstrating the city's suitability for year-round sports activities.
