The Medical Battalion of the Naval Education and Training Command (hereinafter referred to as the "Education Command Medical Battalion") was selected as the best medical unit in the 2025 medical battalion-level medical management evaluation and received an award of excellence from the Chief Medical Officer of the Naval Headquarters on November 11.

View original imageThis evaluation, organized by the Naval Headquarters, assessed a total of 15 medical units across the Navy and Marine Corps. The evaluation covered 143 items, including the level of work implementation in each area of medical management, the status of activities to improve medical quality, and the results of measures taken based on the 2024 evaluation results. The Education Command Medical Battalion achieved a perfect score, ranking first and being selected as the top medical unit in medical management.
In particular, the management status of pharmaceuticals, activities to improve medical quality and patient safety, and the status of respecting patient rights and ensuring safety were all rated as excellent and recognized as best practices.
Lieutenant Colonel Kim Jihwa, Commander of the Medical Battalion, stated, "This evaluation is the result of all members of the Education Command Medical Battalion recognizing the importance of medical management and striving to establish a systematic management culture. Moving forward, we will continue to do our utmost to enhance medical quality, strengthen patient safety and infection control, and create a safe and trusted military medical environment."

Meanwhile, throughout this year, the Education Command Medical Battalion has carried out various health management and medical support work for service members, such as conducting semi-annual health promotion campaigns in cooperation with Jinhae Public Health Center and the Inha University Affiliated Cooperation Group, realistic mass casualty treatment team training during the UFS period, and food poisoning prevention activities for trainees and service members during the summer. The battalion plans to continue its efforts to improve medical quality and establish a culture of patient safety.
