Hanwha Eagles to Hold 'Fireworks Festival' Celebrating 40th Anniversary and Korean Series Runner-Up Finish
To Be Held on November 30 at Daejeon Expo Science Park and Expo Bridge Area
The Hanwha Eagles will hold a fireworks festival on November 30 at Daejeon Expo Science Park and the Expo Bridge area to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the team’s founding and their runner-up finish in the Korean Series.
On November 10, Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, presided over a weekly work meeting and instructed the implementation of safety measures for the Hanwha Fireworks Festival, the expansion of return gifts for the Hometown Love Donation Program, and the efficient use of the budget.
Regarding the Hanwha Fireworks Festival in Daejeon, Mayor Lee stated, "We need to prepare by estimating a generous number of festival visitors," and warned, "If more visitors come than anticipated, we cannot guarantee safety and traffic measures."
On that day, a large-scale fireworks display and drone show are scheduled to take place.
Mayor Lee also said, "Please thoroughly review the manuals for large-scale fireworks shows held in Seoul, Busan, and other cities, and ensure that traffic and safety measures are fully prepared."
He also instructed the expansion of return gifts for the Hometown Love Donation Program.
Mayor Lee said, "For the Hometown Love Donation Program return gifts, we must include not only products from local bakeries and dessert shops, but also a variety of goods from local small businesses to create a virtuous cycle in the local economy." He also called for an increase in the supply of regional symbolic items such as Kkumdori merchandise, Kkumdori walnut cookies, and ramen.
