Seokbo Elementary (Yeongyang) and Munsu Elementary (Yeongju) Named Best Neulbom Schools... Muhak High Recognized for Excellence in After-School Program
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on November 10 that two elementary schools were selected as the Best Schools in the Neulbom School category and one middle/high school was recognized as an Excellent School in the After-School Program category at the '2025 Neulbom After-School Program Best Practices Selection,' hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Korea Educational Development Institute.
This achievement is the result of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education's efforts to reduce the burden on parents and support the safety and growth of students through care and education centered on public education, which have been highly evaluated.

View original imageFor the elementary Neulbom School category, Seokbo Elementary School (Yeongyang), a small school with six classes, and Munsu Elementary School (Yeongju) were selected as the Best Schools, demonstrating the 'great strength of small schools.'
Seokbo Elementary School presented a model of cooperation among parents, the school, and the local community, under the theme 'Creating a Safe and Attentive Neulbom School through the Che-In-Ji (體仁知) Program,' which supports the holistic growth of students.
Munsu Elementary School, under the theme 'A Neulbom School Embracing SEL (Social and Emotional Learning): A Day of Growth at Munsu Elementary,' enhanced students' sense of achievement and trust in the school by collaborating with local institutions and ensuring the participation of students with special needs.
Daegu Catholic University College of Education Affiliated Muhak High School (Gyeongsan) was selected as an Excellent Institution in the secondary after-school category for its student-led, student-choice after-school project program.
Under the slogan, 'Happy Together! Independently, Cooperatively, Joyfully, in the Streets of Dream (Dream), Wisdom (Ji), and Joy (Rak)!', the school established a variety of programs beyond regular subjects, including arts, sports, integrated, and talent development classes, thereby increasing both student participation and satisfaction.
The schools selected this time will receive the Minister of Education Award, and the awards ceremony will be held at the '2025 Ondongne Education Donation Expo' in Suwon from December 12 to 14. The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education will participate in the expo and operate a 'K-EDU Neulbom and After-School Education Experience Booth' to promote the excellence and innovative models of warm Gyeongbuk education.
