Crit Ventures USA Invests in AI Art Curation Platform "Artue"
On November 10, Crit Ventures USA, the U.S. subsidiary of the domestic venture capital (VC) firm Crit Ventures, announced that it has made a strategic investment in Habitus Associates, the operator of the artificial intelligence (AI) art curation platform 'Artue.' With this investment, Crit Ventures USA will become the second-largest shareholder of Habitus Associates, based on the combined total of its managed funds.
Artue was launched in 2023 with the goal of becoming the "operating system (OS) for the art market in the AI era." It is an AI-based art platform that understands individual aesthetic preferences and recommends artworks through conversational, multimodal, and emotion-based search. Currently, about 540 artists and more than 4,000 artworks are registered on the platform. Over the past year, the number of artists and artworks has grown by more than 15% and 20%, respectively, rapidly expanding the platform's global influence.
Artue has completed the world's first patent application for an AI-based art recommendation and discovery system. This technology is recognized as the first case of technical standardization for visualizing art experiences and was introduced as an innovation case at the OpenAI Korea opening ceremony. In addition, by combining a blockchain-based copyright protection, forgery verification, and digital ownership management system, Artue has established a trust-based global art transaction infrastructure. The company is also accelerating the token securities (STO) process for physical art assets and the creation of a global art fund.
To this end, Artue has entered into a technology partnership with the STO blockchain platform 'CONX' (ticker: XPLA), in which Com2uS Holdings participates, and plans to introduce a next-generation ArtTech financial infrastructure that integrates AI, blockchain, and digital assets.
A Crit Ventures USA representative stated, "Artue is a company that leads the digital transformation of the art market by rapidly integrating cutting-edge technology into relevant industries. As the AI industry evolves from general-purpose competition toward vertical domain-specialized models in fields such as content, design, and entertainment, Artue will stand out as a prime example of this trend."
