Sejung Nanum Foundation Provides Wellmade Apparel to Isolated Middle-Aged Individuals Living Alone
Supporting Social Reconnection Through the "Single Network 4060 Dorandoran" Program
The Sejung Nanum Foundation (Chairman Park Sunho) announced on November 10 that it is supporting 14 isolated middle-aged individuals living alone by providing clothing as part of the "Single Network 4060 Dorandoran" program, which departs for Jeju Island in the afternoon. The foundation is helping those marginalized by social isolation reconnect with their communities through retraining and external activities.
The "Single Network 4060 Dorandoran" initiative is a collaborative project between the Sejung Nanum Foundation, DRB Dongil Rubber Belt, and the Geumjeong-gu Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. The program aims to identify low-income, socially isolated middle-aged single households in the Seogeumsa area and establish a social support system for them.
Low-income, middle-aged individuals living alone are vulnerable in various aspects, including economics, health, housing, and social relationships. They are exposed to social issues such as disconnection, isolation, alienation, and lonely deaths.
This program is designed to promote social integration and restore self-esteem by encouraging participation in retraining and external activities.
For this project, the Sejung Nanum Foundation provided approximately 20 million won worth of clothing and operational expenses.
The beneficiaries, 14 low-income middle-aged individuals living alone, each received a full outfit set-including outerwear and innerwear-up to a maximum value of 1 million won per person. They will participate in a healing trip and workshop in Jeju.
This support with Wellmade apparel is expected to bring about positive changes, such as restoring self-esteem and boosting confidence, beyond simply improving outward appearance.
Park Sunho, Chairman of the Sejung Nanum Foundation, stated, "I hope this project will serve as a small opportunity for isolated middle-aged individuals living alone to reconnect with society," adding, "The Sejung Nanum Foundation will continue to be a reliable partner, consistently practicing sharing so that they can become self-reliant and grow together with the community."
The "Single Network 4060 Dorandoran" program plans to expand its target group and strengthen its regional cooperation network in the future.
Additionally, the program aims to establish a structure that enables participants to maintain ongoing communication with society by collaborating with various local organizations and businesses.
DRB Dongil Rubber Belt, a partner in this project, is supporting operational costs, space, and infrastructure (Campus D), while the Geumjeong-gu Comprehensive Social Welfare Center is responsible for operational expenses as well as planning and implementing the project.
