It was a come-from-behind victory for Ben Griffin of the United States.
On November 9 (local time), at El Cardonal (par 72, 7,452 yards) in Los Cabos, Mexico, Ben Griffin recorded 10 birdies and 1 bogey in the fourth round of the PGA Tour World Wide Technology Championship, which had a total prize fund of 6 million dollars.
With a stellar round of 9-under-par 62, Griffin finished with a total of 29-under-par 259, beating Sami Valimaki of Finland and Chad Ramey of the United States (both at 27-under-par 261) by two strokes. This marked his third win of the season following the Zurich Classic in April and the Charles Schwab Challenge in May. The winner’s prize is 1.08 million dollars (approximately 1.6 billion won).

He got off to a great start with back-to-back birdies on the first and second holes, but lost a stroke with a bogey on the fifth hole (par 4) after making a birdie on the fourth. He then surged to the top of the leaderboard with five consecutive birdies from holes 8 to 12, and sealed his victory with additional birdies on the 16th and 18th holes. His performance was powered by a greens-in-regulation rate of 94.44% and an average of 1.53 putts per hole.

Garrick Higgo of South Africa, who was the leader the previous day, fought hard and shot four under par, but slipped to a tie for fourth place (26-under-par 262). Last year’s runner-up, Carson Young, and Patrick Rodgers, both from the United States, tied for sixth place (25-under-par 263). No Korean players participated in this tournament.
