The Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation (President Kim Namil) will host the "2025 K Silk Road Food Festival Noodle Festa" for three days from November 14 to 16 at Cheonma Square and the Cultural Center area of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park.
This festival is the first global event to be held at Gyeongju Expo Grand Park following the 2025 APEC Summit, and it marks the second consecutive year for this noodle-focused culinary festival. By combining the historical significance of Gyeongju and the symbolism of the Silk Road, the event has been prepared as a venue for exchange and cooperation where Eastern and Western cultures meet.
The "Noodle Festa" is a global gourmet festival centered around noodle dishes, offering visitors the chance to taste a variety of cuisines from Silk Road cultures and experience their traditions. The festival grounds will feature a food court where visitors can enjoy noodle dishes from various countries, such as Vietnamese pho, Thai pad thai, and Filipino pancit bihon. In addition to exhibitions introducing the history and culture of the Silk Road, there will be stage performances to eat, watch, and enjoy.
In particular, during the festival, a special exhibition titled "Encountering Jeong Su-il Through Records" will be held, highlighting the academic journey and life of Dr. Jeong Su-il, a renowned scholar of Silk Road civilization studies. This exhibition presents Dr. Jeong’s research records and journeys exploring the exchanges of human civilization along the Silk Road through various materials and videos, reminding visitors of the historical value of the Silk Road and its spirit of exchange.
The program will open on November 14 with a celebratory performance by trot rising star Choi Sooho. On November 15, Park Junwoo, runner-up of MasterChef Korea Season 1, will take the stage to present a cooking show featuring creative noodle dishes inspired by the Silk Road. On November 16, a special cooking show will be hosted by Nam Jeongseok, a chef known from "Black & White Chef" and for his plant-based restaurant listed in the Seoul Gourmet 100, adding further excitement to the festival.
In addition, a variety of performances such as mime acts, the Noodle Concert, and busking shows will be held, allowing both citizens and tourists to fully enjoy the festive atmosphere.
