The donated items are the results of hands-on training at the Goyang Smart Farm Startup Preparation Farm, where Goyang High School students cultivated radishes and European lettuce through smart farm system training that automatically controls temperature, humidity, and nutrient solution.
The agricultural products delivered on this day will be used for meals provided to seniors utilizing the Deokyang Senior Welfare Center, as well as for meal kit support programs for elderly people living alone and vulnerable groups.
This activity marks the third donation following potatoes in June and lettuce in July, and is especially meaningful in that students are returning the results of their education, gained through community-based experiences, back to the community, thus creating a virtuous cycle.
A representative from Goyang High School stated, "Through practice-oriented digital agriculture education, students are learning both the value of technology and sharing," adding, "Thanks to the Educational Development Special Zone project, students can participate in field training that they would not experience in regular school curricula, and they are enjoying the classes very much."
