I hope today's event will serve as a meaningful opportunity to find new momentum for progress."
Mayor Oh stated, "A society where women can fully realize their potential cannot be achieved by administrative efforts alone. Real change is only possible when the awareness and actions of all stakeholders-including those in the field, businesses, and citizens-are combined." He added, "Seoul Metropolitan Government is striving to create an environment for women to return to work and grow through various policies such as the 'Seoul Women Up Project' and the 'Work-Life Balance Point System.'"
The Seoul Women Up Project provides job-seeking support funds to unemployed women in their 30s and 40s whose household income is at or below 150% of the median income, supporting their return to the workforce. The Work-Life Balance Point System is an initiative that offers incentives to small and medium-sized enterprises that strive to create workplaces friendly to childbirth and parenting.
He remarked, "Compared to over a decade ago, the influence of women in approval and practical work lines has grown remarkably. I am confident that within the next ten years, the majority of managers will be women."
He continued, "The future that Seoul envisions is a city where everyone can realize their potential while achieving a balance between work and life. We will steadfastly move forward on this path, believing that when women grow, society grows."
