KCGI The Woman Fund Selects Donation Recipients: WomenCorporateDirectors Korea and Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association
On November 4, KCGI The Woman Fund held a “KCGI The Woman Fund Donation Agreement Ceremony” at its Yeouido headquarters and announced on November 5 that it had selected the WomenCorporateDirectors Korea (WCD Korea) and the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association as the first recipients of its donation.
This marks the fund’s first official donation using sponsorship funds established for its social contribution initiatives, with 10 million won delivered to each organization. The donation was arranged to provide practical support to public interest groups that contribute to women’s participation in management and gender equality.
The fund allocates 10% of its management and sales fees to support women-related projects, public interest initiatives, support for related organizations, and other projects for beneficiaries. Based on the recommendations and reviews of the fund’s supervisory directors, the two organizations were selected as the first beneficiaries.
WomenCorporateDirectors Korea (WCD Korea) is the Korean chapter of the global network WomenCorporateDirectors, dedicated to women directors worldwide. Launched in 2016 with around 40 female executive and outside directors in Korea, its membership has grown to about 180. The organization works to expand women’s participation in corporate boards from the perspectives of diversity, equity, and inclusion, aiming to address the low rate of female board members in Korean companies.
The organization was chosen as a donation recipient because its mission aligns with the values pursued by KCGI The Woman Fund, namely “empowering women’s economic decision-making and expanding participation in management.”
The Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association is a leading domestic organization representing the interests of female entrepreneurs and economic actors, with the goal of fostering an environment for the growth of women-led businesses and expanding women’s participation in management. Through building networks, management support, and educational activities, it contributes to expanding the economic activities of women.
The association was selected as a donation recipient because its mission directly aligns with the fund’s founding purpose of “gender equality” and “expanding women’s participation in management.”
KCGI The Woman Fund is the only fund in Korea specifically established to promote gender equality and increase women’s participation in management, pursuing both investor returns and the realization of social value. In particular, since revising its investment strategy last year to focus on “empowering women’s economic decision-making,” the fund has delivered outstanding performance and achieved differentiated returns among domestic ESG funds.
