The group will be composed of Paju residents from various backgrounds to ensure a wide range of voices are heard.
Unlike the first group formed in 2023, this second group will be assembled through an open recruitment process to encourage broader citizen participation. A total of 100 members will be recruited, and anyone aged 15 or older who lives in Paju or considers Paju their primary area of activity is eligible to apply.
The Citizen Promotion Group will be organized into four divisions: the Economy Division, the Education Division, the Society & Public Relations Division, and the Expert Advisory Division. Each division will hold meetings and conduct promotional activities tailored to their objectives, in line with the administrative progress of the Peace Economy Special Zone. Detailed information on recruitment can be found in the public announcement posted on the Paju City Hall website.
Paju City aims to use the formation of this Citizen Promotion Group to prepare for the official designation procedures for the Peace Economy Special Zone, which will begin in earnest in 2026. The city also plans to gather diverse suggestions from citizens to develop a unique strategy for attracting the special zone to Paju and to actively push forward with practical preparations.

The Peace Economy Special Zone is a special area established under the "Act on the Designation and Operation of the Peace Economy Special Zone," enacted and implemented in 2023. Once designated, the zone will allow for large-scale, integrated development in various sectors such as industry, tourism, and residential areas. This is expected to not only revitalize the local economy but also make a significant contribution to the economic growth of South Korea as a whole.
