Optimizing Indoor Environment and Enhancing Energy Efficiency
Tailored AI Home Scenarios for Five Living Spaces
From November 5 to 7, Samsung Electronics is jointly exhibiting a modular home solution based on the ‘AI Home’ platform with Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) at the ‘2025 Smart Construction, Safety, and AI Expo’ held at KINTEX in Ilsan.
This expo, hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is a large-scale exhibition showcasing the latest smart construction technologies. This year, more than 250 companies are participating.
Samsung Electronics first unveiled its modular home solution in collaboration with Samsung C&T at ‘IFA 2025,’ Europe’s largest home appliance exhibition held in Germany last month. Now, through this joint exhibition with LH, the company is introducing its ‘Modular Home Solution’ to the domestic market.
The Modular Home Solution is a SmartThings-based AI home solution optimized for modular architecture. Various devices that make up a building-including AI home appliances, sensors, lighting, door locks, other Internet of Things (IoT) devices, HVAC systems, energy solutions, and ventilation systems-are all connected through SmartThings. This optimizes the indoor environment and enhances energy efficiency.

Within the LH exhibition space, Samsung Electronics has implemented a modular home solution based on the ‘AI Home’ platform, offering an easy, safe, and efficient residential experience in a 51-square-meter space designed for one- or two-person households.
Visitors can directly experience the four core values provided by the ‘AI Home’ solution in this exhibition, which features five areas: entrance, kitchen, living room, bedroom, and laundry room. The core values are: ▲Ease (easy and convenient), ▲Save (time and energy efficiency), ▲Care (health for oneself and family), and ▲Secure (robust security and safety).
In addition, a wide range of Bespoke AI home appliances equipped with differentiated AI technology will be on display, including: ▲the ‘Bespoke AI Hybrid 4-Door Kitchen Fit Max’ refrigerator, which can be installed built-in style in kitchen cabinetry; ▲the ‘Bespoke AI Induction’ cooktop, which adds peace of mind with remote control and AI features; and ▲the ‘Bespoke AI Combo,’ an integrated washer-dryer with the largest drying capacity and enhanced drying efficiency in Korea.
At the modular home entrance, visitors can experience security solutions such as smart door locks and doorbells connected via SmartThings, which provide safe and convenient access, as well as features that automatically operate home appliances according to the user’s lifestyle.
For example, when returning home after being out, the air conditioner, air purifier, and lights turn on, and the curtains close, creating an optimal environment as preset by the user.
In the kitchen, visitors can try out various features that provide a smart kitchen experience, such as: ▲‘Daily Board,’ which summarizes personalized information like weather, schedules, and meal recommendations on the refrigerator screen; ▲‘AI Vision Inside,’ which automatically creates a food list by recognizing ingredients entering and leaving the refrigerator; and ▲‘Auto Open Door,’ which allows the refrigerator door to be opened automatically by voice command.
Solutions that keep the home safe are also on display. If smoke or a water leak is detected in the kitchen, appliances linked with detection sensors notify the user. For example, the refrigerator and smartphone display notification pop-ups, the robot vacuum provides a voice warning, and the hood automatically operates to remove smoke. This allows users to quickly recognize and respond to situations.
In the living room, visitors can directly experience convenient home features such as: ▲‘Map View’ in SmartThings, which allows users to view and control all connected home devices at a glance; and ▲‘Quick Remote,’ which enables easy control and monitoring of operation times using a Samsung smartphone.
The bedroom features solutions that provide a comfortable sleep environment. When a pre-set bedtime routine is activated in the SmartThings app, the lighting and air conditioner are adjusted to create an optimal environment for restful sleep. There is also a ‘Sleep Environment Report’ function, which summarizes the previous night’s sleep environment and suggests improvements for better sleep quality.
Oh Juhyun, Head of the Public Housing Division at Korea Land & Housing Corporation, said, “LH, which leads the modular housing market, and Samsung Electronics, which leads the AI home appliance industry, have jointly organized this exhibition. We will continue to lead the future residential environment in the modular market.”
