Outstanding Achievements Selected in Four Categories:
Commercialization, Strategic Technology, Turnaround, and Public Innovation
On November 5, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced the companies selected for the "2025 Top 50 Outstanding SME R&D Achievements." The "Top 50 Outstanding SME R&D Achievements," now in its third year since its launch in 2023, is a program designed to discover and promote small and medium-sized enterprises that have successfully completed R&D support projects from the ministry over the past five years and have achieved outstanding results.
This year, a total of 360 companies applied, resulting in a high competition rate of 7.2 to 1. The selected companies are comprised of: 30 companies with outstanding commercialization achievements in technology development projects; 10 companies that have secured global-level technological capabilities in strategic technology fields; 5 companies that have overcome management crises and succeeded in making a comeback; and 5 companies that have contributed to improving public services, such as alleviating social inequality. In total, 50 companies were selected.
The selected companies will receive a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups, as well as a variety of incentives. These include low-interest loans and participation in exclusive investment support programs through Industrial Bank of Korea and Hana Bank, which are the dedicated banks for SME R&D funding. Additional benefits include support for participation in global exhibitions to facilitate overseas market entry, exclusive recruitment channels for talent acquisition, preferential treatment when participating in follow-up R&D projects, and the production and promotion of casebooks featuring outstanding cases.
Among the selected companies, in the commercialization field, Fantalux developed circuit technology that improves luminance uniformity and power efficiency in displays, successfully achieving mass production. Through its technology development project, the company recorded cumulative sales of 48.1 billion won and exports of 18 billion won. Fantalux is actively expanding into overseas markets, including Europe and the United States, as well as the domestic market.
In the strategic technology field, Pinobio developed optimized linker technology for next-generation antibody-drug conjugate manufacturing, which can reduce side effects while enhancing therapeutic efficacy. This achievement led to 11 billion won in investment and 2.1 billion won in technology fee revenue, and the company is expected to lead a paradigm shift in anticancer chemotherapy.
Saesoltech, selected in the turnaround and re-challenge category, once faced the risk of closure after its main business of feature phone development was discontinued due to the spread of smartphones. However, through the R&D support program, the company succeeded in advancing and commercializing communication security terminal software and servers essential for autonomous driving. As a result, its sales increased from 430 million won in 2022 to 2.37 billion won in 2024, marking a successful business revival.

Argosdyne was selected in the public innovation field. The company developed a fixed-station-based unmanned drone automatic operation system capable of performing special missions-such as disaster response, security, forest monitoring, aerial surveying, and missing person searches-without the assistance of a drone pilot. This technology is expected to not only increase the utilization of drones in the public sector but also improve landing accuracy and enable further miniaturization of stations, allowing expansion to mobile platforms such as vehicles and ships.
