View original imageThe Daejin University Social Service Group (DUNI) carried out an 'Apple Picking Rural Volunteer Activity' at Gungtteul Farm in Yeongjung-myeon, Pocheon City, on November 1. This volunteer work was organized to assist farms struggling with labor shortages during the busy farming season and to provide students with an opportunity to experience the realities of agricultural work firsthand.
Student members of the volunteer group and faculty volunteers worked together to harvest and sort apples, assisting the farm with its harvest operations. By collaborating on-site, participants were able to appreciate the value of agriculture and reflect on the significance of service that provides tangible support to the local community.
In particular, this activity was meaningful not only for supporting farm work but also for fostering a community culture of urban-rural coexistence and establishing a university-community cooperation model in which all university members actively participate in regional development.
