Pusan National University began construction on this day, with the goal of completing the building by February 2027. After completion, members of the Yangsan Campus will be able to use the new multipurpose building starting from the first semester of the 2027 academic year.
The project is being implemented by Busan Mirae Creative, with ING Group Architects responsible for design, Kyungdong Construction handling construction, and SMI in charge of operations.
The total project cost is 25.5 billion won. The multipurpose building will be constructed on the site between Haengnim Hall (dormitory) and Gyeongam Engineering Hall at the Yangsan Campus, with one basement level and four above-ground floors, and a total floor area of 10,082.42 square meters.
The new multipurpose building will include the Administrative Support Headquarters, a student union, a gymnasium, and spaces for liberal arts education. It is planned as a complex space that can be used by both students and staff.
Pusan National University plans to make this facility a model for eco-friendly and smart energy campuses. The university will install LED lighting throughout the entire building and apply renewable energy systems such as solar and geothermal power to reduce energy consumption. In addition, a Building Energy Management System (BEMS) will be introduced to manage and analyze building energy usage data in real time.
