Sanae Takaichi, Prime Minister of Japan, departed from Haneda Airport on the 30th to attend the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit to be held in Gyeongju.
Prime Minister Takaichi plans to stay in Korea until November 1, attend the APEC Summit, and hold bilateral meetings with leaders from various countries.
Having taken office on October 21, she is scheduled to hold her first bilateral summit with President Lee Jaemyung later this afternoon. Arrangements are also being made for a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping the following day.

According to Kyodo News and other outlets, Prime Minister Takaichi told reporters before her departure that she plans to meet with President Lee immediately upon arrival and expressed her intention to have a meaningful discussion. Regarding her participation in the APEC Summit, she stated, "I hope to build trusting relationships for the peace, stability, and prosperity of the region."
