Busan Port Authority Receives Appreciation Plaque for 'Oryukdo 5,600 Won Hope Sharing Project'
Recognized for Contributions to Regional Welfare
Donated a Total of 45 Million Won Over Three Years
Busan Port Authority (BPA), led by President Song Sangkeun, received a plaque of appreciation from the Chairman of the Busan Community Chest at the 'Oryukdo 5,600 Won Hope Sharing Project 10th Anniversary Ceremony' held at the UN Peace Memorial Hall on October 29.
The 'Oryukdo 5,600 Won Hope Sharing Project' is a leading regional welfare cooperation initiative promoted by Nam-gu District of Busan and the Busan Community Chest since 2016. Citizens and companies donate 5,600 won each month, and the project has raised a total of 1.1 billion won to date.
Among the participating organizations, BPA was recognized as the top donor, having contributed a cumulative total of 45 million won over the past three years.
BPA considers mutual growth and sharing with the local community as core values, going beyond port management and operations. In 2024 alone, BPA allocated a total of 3.8 billion won for social contribution, continuing activities across various areas such as welfare, environment, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Centered around its own social contribution brand 'PORTner,' BPA is carrying out a variety of projects, including operating the 'BPA Hope Pantry'-a 365-day sharing refrigerator, identifying and supporting people in welfare blind spots, organizing group blood drives, improving housing conditions for low-income families, enhancing children's nutrition, providing youth port career experience programs, and offering donations and goods to neighbors during holidays.
