Following President Cho, Kim Giwon, Senior Vice President of the Seoul Bar Association, and Jo Jaemin, Special Advisor, also participated in the protest as part of the relay.
On this day, President Cho stated, "The Chairperson of the Fair Trade Commission, who is shielding unethical law firms, must resign," and added, "The obstruction of the work of lawyer organizations that protect victims of judicial harm must stop."
Previously, on the 21st, the Seoul Bar Association issued a statement titled "The Fair Trade Commission Must Stop Intervening in the Affairs of Lawyer Organizations," condemning the Fair Trade Commission for launching an investigation against lawyer organizations for allegedly violating the prohibition on business association activities under the Fair Trade Act.
In the statement, the Seoul Bar Association said, "The Fair Trade Commission notified the Korean Bar Association and the Seoul Bar Association that it had launched an investigation and requested the submission of explanatory materials," and added, "The disciplinary actions taken by lawyer organizations against certain law firms' inappropriate conduct, as well as efforts to inform consumers about these issues in accordance with Article 76 of the Attorney-at-Law Act, have been deemed subject to the Fair Trade Act."

The statement continued, "We strongly condemn the Fair Trade Commission for abandoning its core duties, shielding certain law firms engaged in inappropriate business practices that have caused social controversy, and turning a blind eye to consumer harm in this case," stressing, "We strongly urge the Fair Trade Commission to immediately cease overstepping its authority by intervening in the affairs of the Korean Bar Association and local bar associations and protecting unethical law firms."
