The event featured presentations of outstanding cases by farmers, reports on the status of pilot projects by sector, training on post-subsidy management, as well as the collection of farmers' opinions and a comprehensive discussion session.
In addition, a banner exhibition showcased the achievements of each pilot project, and a taste test for different rice varieties (cooked rice and garaetteok) made from rice produced at the pest and disease monitoring field was held, receiving positive responses from participants.
This year, in the field of technical support, the city promoted 12 projects in four areas: fostering premium rice production complexes using domestic varieties, distributing stable cultivation techniques for root crops, providing stable production technology for greenhouse cucumbers in response to climate change, and revitalizing online direct transactions for agricultural products.
Through these efforts, the city achieved various results, such as reducing management costs and improving productivity in response to population decline and aging.
In the area of rural resources, the city carried out six projects in two areas: fostering rural healing farms, establishing small apartment gardens, and distributing smart farm technology to young farmer 4-H members, thereby contributing to the spread of healing agriculture and the creation of a foundation for youth farmers' self-reliance.
In particular, the farm of Yoo Heegwan in Yongam-ri, Eunhyeon-myeon, drew attention as a case of income improvement, having introduced a remote environmental control system through the "Smart Farm Technology Pilot Project for Mushroom Cultivation," which resulted in a 15% increase in production and a 20% reduction in labor requirements.
