Ulsan Elijah Hospital (Director: Jung Younghwan) will hold a health lecture for local residents on October 29 at 1:00 p.m. in the hospital’s second-floor conference room, under the theme "Essential Rehabilitation Exercises Before and After Knee Surgery."
This lecture will be led by Kim Jooyoung, Head of the Physical Therapy Department at Ulsan Elijah Hospital’s Manual Therapy Center.
The monthly rehabilitation health lectures at Ulsan Elijah Hospital have been well received, providing local residents with specialized and practical information on rehabilitation therapy, as well as hosting various events such as raffle draws for participants.
Registration for the rehabilitation health lecture is available through the hospital’s customer service center.
Before and after knee surgery, it is important to support recovery of the surgical area through rehabilitation exercises, and to prevent muscle weakness, joint stiffness, and pain. For a speedy return to daily life, it is crucial to learn the correct rehabilitation methods, as excessive or improper rehabilitation can have adverse effects.
Gradually increasing exercise intensity within a pain-free range and consistently performing a variety of exercises such as knee bending, leg raises, and walking can help with rehabilitation.
Kim Jooyoung, Head of the Physical Therapy Department at Ulsan Elijah Hospital, advised, "Rehabilitation exercises before and after knee surgery must be tailored in method and intensity to each patient’s condition. For a quick return to daily life, the quality of exercise is more important than the quantity, so it is essential to carry out appropriate rehabilitation under the guidance and consultation of medical professionals."
Last year, Ulsan Elijah Hospital introduced the "Mako" joint surgery robot, which received FDA approval in the United States, thereby improving the accuracy and safety of knee and hip surgeries. By applying patient-specific surgical techniques, the hospital has significantly increased patient satisfaction with surgical outcomes.
