Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province has joined hands with the local community to support the mental health recovery of children from vulnerable groups and those who have suffered abuse.

View original imageOn the 27th, Gwangmyeong City signed a "Business Agreement on Group Living Homes and Psychological Treatment, Sponsorship Linkage, and Medical Support for Abused Children" with Bitnara Social Welfare Foundation, Guseong Psychological Counseling Center Gwangmyeong Branch, Gwangmyeong Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, and Seoul Tuntun Pediatric Clinic at the city hall conference room.
This agreement was established to strengthen psychological and emotional support and build an integrated support system for children experiencing mental difficulties, such as those living in group homes or who have suffered abuse, by collaborating with professional treatment institutions and going beyond existing physical support.
Under the agreement, the city will identify children in need of psychological support. Bitnara Social Welfare Foundation will provide free art therapy and food sponsorship, Guseong Psychological Counseling Center will offer reduced treatment fees, Gwangmyeong Youth Counseling and Welfare Center will prioritize group counseling and sponsorship linkage services for children in facilities, and Seoul Tuntun Pediatric Clinic will support priority health checkups for children admitted on an emergency basis.
