Ministry of Culture to Hold 3rd Youth Culture Forum... Lecture by Lim Hongtaek, Author of "The Nineties Are Coming"
At the National Asia Culture Center in Gwangju on November 1
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on October 27 that it will hold the "2025 3rd Youth Culture Forum" under the theme "How to Use Youth Culture: The Moment We Connect, We Expand" at the National Asia Culture Center in Dong-gu, Gwangju, at 3 p.m. on November 1.
This forum will begin with a lecture by author Lim Hongtaek, known for his book "The Nineties Are Coming." Lim Hongtaek, who also wrote "The 2000s Are Coming," discusses the realities and characteristics of the young generation, resonating with their experiences. Under the theme "How to Live Authentically in an Era Without Clear Answers," Lim will offer encouragement and comfort to help young people find their own paths amid uncertainty, and create an opportunity to reflect together on what it means to "live authentically."
Following this, a talk concert titled "Cultural Youth, In Search of Companions" will be held. The panel will feature Cho Youngha, CEO of the urban culture platform "Domansa" based in Seongsu-dong, Seoul; Kim Miyeon, CEO of "Mumyeongilgi," a cultural space in Yeongdo, Busan; Jung Hyunbin, CEO of the social enterprise "Localer," which develops regional content; Kim Seunghoon, Chairman of the Gwangju Youth Committee; and Lee Junyoung, Manager of the Gwangju Youth Center. Although based in different regions, these panelists will share their experiences and thoughts on how they have built relationships and pioneered new paths through culture in their respective communities.
Afterward, the panelists and participants will be divided into four areas-life and career, culture and arts/creation, local communities and spaces, and relationships and networking-to freely exchange opinions on topics of personal interest.
As a pre-event for the forum, there will be booths such as "Youth Wish Keyring," where participants can choose a field they wish to connect with and create their own wish keychain, and "Relay Message Wall," where people can share their thoughts. There will also be a celebratory performance by singer-songwriter Shin Jikseon, a former participant in the Yoo Jaeha Music Competition.
Anyone can participate in the forum free of charge by registering in advance on the Eventus website by October 31.
