Direct Intercity Bus Service Launched from Buyeo to Cheongju Airport with No Transfers
Ultra-Wide Area Tourism and Transportation Innovation Project Connecting Buyeo, Gongju, and Cheongju Begins in Earnest
Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province has launched an intercity bus route that directly connects to Cheongju International Airport. This new service eliminates the inconvenience of multiple transfers that travelers previously faced, and is expected to further strengthen the tourism and transportation network linking Buyeo, Gongju, and Cheongju.
On October 27, Buyeo County announced the start of operations for the new intercity bus route connecting Buyeo, Gongju, Osong Station, and Cheongju International Airport.
This route is part of the "Ultra-Wide Area Tourism and Transportation Innovation District Project," which is being jointly promoted by Buyeo County, Gongju City, and Cheongju City. The project aims to improve transportation convenience for local residents and enhance accessibility to Buyeo for both domestic and international tourists.
The new service is expected to significantly reduce travel time, as it eliminates the need for multiple transfers previously required to reach Cheongju International Airport.
The intercity bus will operate four round trips per day, and tickets can be reserved and purchased through kiosks at the Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal.
Starting in November, the county plans to pilot a demand-responsive transport (DRT) service to establish a customized transportation system connecting major tourist attractions such as Gungnamji, Jeongnimsaji, and the Baekje Cultural Complex with KTX Gongju Station.
