On October 26, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the 10th Integrated Review Committee for Redevelopment Projects had conditionally approved the "Gangdong Station Area Revitalization Project (Urban Redevelopment Project)."

The integrated review was conducted simultaneously across five fields: architecture, landscape, transportation, environment, and disaster management. Along with the "Gangdong-gu Seongnae-dong 179 Transit-Oriented Development Project" nearby, this initiative is expected to boost the local economy and street activity along Cheonho-daero in the Gangdong Station area.

A total of 818 "transit-oriented urban housing" units will be supplied on a 21,461-square-meter site around 19-1 Seongnae-dong, Gangdong-gu. Of these, 211 units are planned as public rental housing, including the Mirinae Home program.

The project will feature a mixed-use development including residential units, retail facilities, office spaces, sports facilities, and cultural and assembly venues. The building coverage ratio is 54.17%, and the floor area ratio is 799.99%.

Public facilities for residents will include a winter sports ice rink, an indoor swimming pool, and a cultural center. Retail spaces covering 34,190 square meters will be created from the second basement level to the third floor above ground, aiming to attract foot traffic from Cheonho-daero and revitalize commercial activity. Public open spaces and a comics-themed cultural complex will also be established in connection with nearby attractions such as the Comics Street.

A Seoul city official stated, "Through this integrated review, the Gangdong Station area is expected to see revitalization of the local commercial district, improvements in residential and pedestrian environments, and the emergence of Cheonho and Seongnae as a regional hub, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the Cheonho-daero corridor."
