Yeongyang County Unites with 'Dokdo Love T-shirts'... Holds Event to Promote True Love for Dokdo
On the morning of October 24, Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province held the "Wear Dokdo Love T-shirt Campaign" at the entrance of the county office to commemorate Dokdo Day. The event was attended by over 60 public officials, including County Governor Oh Dochang.
Public officials in Yeongyang County took the lead by wearing Dokdo Love T-shirts while at work, reflecting on the significance of Dokdo Day and participating in the nationwide movement for unity.
The event was organized to commemorate the historically significant day of October 25, 1900, when Emperor Gojong of the Korean Empire issued Imperial Decree No. 41, incorporating Dokdo into Ulleungdo. All staff members wore Dokdo Love T-shirts and held the national flag, pledging to take the lead in the movement to protect Dokdo, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding this territory.
