President Lee to Preside Over Ministerial Meeting on Countering Transnational Crimes Including Scams, Drugs, and Cyber Gambling
President Lee Jaemyung will personally preside over a meeting of relevant ministers on the 23rd to address three major international crimes: scams, drug offenses, and cyber gambling, according to the Office of the President.
The Office of the President announced that the "Ministerial Meeting on Countering Transnational Crimes" will be held at 5:30 p.m. that day, chaired by President Lee. Ministers from relevant agencies, including the National Intelligence Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Office for Government Policy Coordination, Financial Services Commission, Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, National Police Agency, National Tax Service, and Korea Customs Service, will attend.

The meeting is expected to discuss ways to expand and strengthen international cooperation and prevention measures against crimes targeting Koreans, including scam crimes in Cambodia. On the 21st, during a Cabinet meeting, President Lee stated regarding international voice phishing crimes, "We should not respond in the usual way, but rather take extraordinary measures."
